On September 15th, 1919, M. François Ferdinand Hanff, chemical engineer, and M. Joseph Hanff, pharmacist, establish the company <> based in Schifflange. Its perspective / purpose is to manufacture a wide range of chemical, industrial and pharmacological products as well as manufacturing all kinds of laboratory glassware.

In august 1928 the company’s headquarters move from Schifflange to Luxembourg, 60, rue de la Vallée.

In 1938 M. Joseph Hanff and its two sons, Théodore and Nicolas transform the company into << J. Hanff & Cie >>. Various expansions of the building located in rue de la Vallée are done in the 40’s and 50’s, the last one in the 70’s.

In 1959 the company changed its name to << Hanff Frères Luxembourg >>

At present M. P. Hanff, son of M. Théodore Hanff and M. J. Clement, son-in-law of M. Nicolas Hanff, are the company’s equal directors, assisted by their sons M. J. Hanff and M. G. Clement.

In august 2011 the headquarters move from its old location, rue de la Vallée to Ellange, Z.A. Triangle Vert to accommodate the growth of the company.
